As chief executive officer, I develop and lead the vision for A Book Apart, an independent publishing house. I get to work with seriously smart and talented authors, editors, and designers everyday.
Previously, I led an ace team of photo editors and producers at NationalGeographic.com, to cultivate and carry out a vision for content like photo tips and education, photo contests, and a total redesign of the user-generated community.
I believe in planning and Post-Its—and finding ways to help passionate people do amazing work.
I develop meaningful, accessible content with dedicated people and facilitate growth and learning through the editorial process. My greatest satisfaction comes from helping inspired people get creative things done through efficient workflows and a dash of best practices. I’m also your biggest cheerleader.
Thanks to my iPhone and Instagram, I'm as excited about photography as I was the first time I threaded film over sprockets.
I'm moved by what the next generation can teach us. I've been fortunate enough to share the joy and love I've found through photography by spending some time with younger folks, teaching them a little bit of what I know, and in return they've taught me to really see.
